Ok’fest luncheon precedes tonight’s opening ceremony

Decked out in lederhosen, Walhalla’s Duane Wilson gave a rousing welcome to the 35th Oktoberfest. The opening ceremony is set for 6 this evening. But, to many people, the real opening is the annual luncheon under the tent at Sertoma. And that’s where today’s crowd enjoyed German food and heard U-S Senator Lindsey Graham speak on the events that have gripped the country. Graham followed that by appearing on a 96.3/WGOG live interview in which he talked about the shutdown, the debt ceiling, and the potential for Iran to develop and use a nuclear weapon.
