Once again, state lawmakers to address roads and bridges

At Seneca, a state lawmaker said the public is finally beginning to see an appreciable amount of road paving, but Rep. Bill Sandifer concedes it’s not enough to allow South Carolina to get rid of its reputation as one of the states with the worst roads in the country.  Sandifer told the Seneca Rotary Club that the legislature has funneled $400 million dollars into the DOT.  That money is going to buy the state bond issues that’ll mean around $4 billion dollars over ten years.  It’s still not enough, Sandifer says, and the legislature will have to re-address roads and bridges again during 2017.
