“Operation Infinity”–phase 2

With the help of two municipal police departments, Oconee County narcotics officers are sweeping the county to remove users and possessors of illegal drugs. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw calls it phase two “Operation Infinity”—a reference to the unending war against drugs first declared by an American president more than 40 years ago. This sweep targets 23 suspects, wanted on charges covering meth, marijuana, cocaine, and prescription drugs. In one instance yesterday near Seneca, Crenshaw said, officers seized 10 quarts of illegal moonshine. By 3 p-m yesterday, nine of the 23 suspects were in custody.
