Oregon tops Kansas State 35-17 in Fiesta Bowl

Fifth-ranked Oregon defeated Number 6 Kansas State 35-17 in the Fiesta Bowl Thursday night at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. De’Anthony Thomas caught the opening kickoff for Oregon and ran it for a 94-yard return, kicking off what turned out to be a good night for the Ducks. Thomas also had a 23-yard touchdown catch, finishing the game with 195 total yards. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was named game MVP, threw for 166 yards, ran for 62 and had three touchdowns, while Kansas State QB Collin Klein, a Heisman Trophy finalist this year, had 151 passing yards, 30 rushing yards, and was intercepted twice.
