OSD recommended for re-accreditation

Oconee public schools may let out a satisfied breath of relief on hearing the news this afternoon that the district is being recommended for re-accreditation. It was evident during a special presentation to the county school trustees that a visit by a group of outside professional evaluators went swimmingly well. A former Asheville, North Carolina school administrator, Dr. Michael Lodico, acted as the lead evaluator for Advance Ed, the re-accrediting organization, during three days of visits across the Oconee district. “This has been a long process for you. I know you have taken it seriously,” Lodico told a well-attended special board of trustees meeting. The evaluators are leaving three recommendations for improvements. One of which is to make further strides in adapting 21st century technology to classrooms.
