Palmetto Trail public meetings next week

Dan Pollock, president of Walhalla Partners for Progress, calls attention to a pair of public meetings next week that’ll feature current information on the project to make Walhalla the new stopping point for a cross-state hiking trail.  The Palmetto Trail is considered the signature project of the non-profit Palmetto Conservation Foundation.  Everyone is invited to one or both of two meetings that will take place 6 to 8 o’clock Tuesday night at the Mountain Rest Community Club and 6 to 8 o’clock Wednesday night at the Salem Community Center.  At 7 o’clock each of those nights Alta Planning and Design will lead a discussion on how working together can complete a critical part of the project—the trail connection through the Andrew Pickens Ranger District in the Sumter National Forest.
