Passenger killed in I-85 accident

The Oconee coroner is at work trying to identify the fatal victim in a crash this morning on I-85.  It occurred shortly after 6:15 this morning near mile marker three in the northbound lanes at Fair Play.  So far, here’s what’s known by Coroner Karl Addis:  The decedent is a 48-year old Vietnamese woman from Chamblee, Georgia who died at the scene of head trauma.  She was a restrained front seat passenger in a Toyota Camry.  The driver of the Camry was flown by helicopter to a Greenville hospital.  The driver of the second vehicle, a northbound pickup truck, was taken for treatment at An Med in Anderson.  According to Addis, the Camry was southbound and crossed the median to the northbound side where the crash occurred.
