“Pay as you throw”–an idea

Scott Moulder stresses no decisions have been made—-and Oconee County Council has taken no vote—but the idea is being considered to make the county’s recycling centers an enterprise fund and move them away from tax-supported operations.   To do that would require “a pay as you throw” concept when using the recycling center, formerly called manned convenience centers.  Moulder told the Walhalla Rotary Club that if Oconee is going to increase its recycling numbers, the recycling centers are going to have to be modernized, to make them friendlier to the public.
