Pendleton man looks to move on up!

Gary BurgessPendleton resident Gary Burgess Sr. has chosen Martin Luther King Day this month to make his official announcement that he’ll be a candidate this year to become next South Carolina State Superintendent of Education. Burgess serves on the Anderson County Board of Education and holds the board office of secretary. He intends to be a candidate for the Republican Party nomination for the statewide post, which becomes available this year on the announcement that Mick Zais won’t seek a second term. Burgess’s candidacy announcement will come 11 o’clock Monday morning, January 20 at the New Light Community Center, highway 187, Anderson.
