“Persons of interest being interviewed at this time”

Two people are believed to have been involved today in the shooting and killing of a  man at a home this morning near Seneca, inside the Utica community. First indications, according to Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, are that what happened on Ames Street was a home invasion whose purpose was robbery. A woman at that home is believed to have called for help, claiming that two masked men invaded the house, fired several shots, and left her tied up. Crenshaw said investigators were speaking to subjects he described as persons of interest and added that, at this time, he does not believe the general public should be alarmed for its safety. The crime scene is the same street where there have been incidents of arson and burglary in recent week. And Crenshaw says those developments are not being discounted as his officers try to get to the bottom of what happened this morning.
