Pickens County gets new administrator

Twenty three years ago, Gerald Wilson started his career with Pickens County government as a motor equipment operator.  Today Pickens County announced Wilson as its new county administrator starting next month.  A 6-0 vote last night of the County Council named Wilson to the post.  He gets a two-year contract.  The new Pickens County administrator’s career with county government is replete with promotions over the years.  At the time of his latest promotion, Wilson served Pickens County as Division Leader for Roads & Bridges, Solid Waste, Recycling, Vehicle Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Animal Control, the County Stockade, and the Engineering Department.
