Planning commissioners make recommendations

Seneca planning commissioners are sending recommendations to the city council to grow the city limits and make zoning changes at three other locations. One of the zoning changes is 809 E. N. 1st Street—part of a corridor which the city planner says is transitioning from homes and businesses to businesses. After last night’s hearing, the commissioners also recommended the mayor and council approve the annexation of 15684 Wells Highway—where insurance agent Joel Rice is part of a venture to construct an office building. If approved, the property would come into the city under a zoning classification of highway commercial. In two other actions, the planning commissioners recommended residential-general zones for properties on Abbott Street to allow mobile homes.
