Plans set for Veterans Day parade

472Downtown Seneca will be the place for the 2016 Oconee Veterans Day Parade.  The parade takes place Friday and will start at 4:30 at the Norton-Thompson Park near the railroad tracks. Parade chairman George White says, “We have invited representatives from all City Police Departments throughout the county, along with the Sheriff’s Office, Highway Patrol and the state Department Natural Resources (DNR) to lead our parade this year as our Grand Marshals.”  Everyone is encouraged to make a sign or banner to express appreciation for the men and women who have worn the military uniform. You can reserve a place in the lineup by contacting the Oconee County Veterans Affairs Office at 638-4231.
