Pool project turns corner

Walhalla’s Oconee County Council representative went up against heavy odds when he helped start an effort to restore the municipal swimming pool. District Two’s Wayne McCall today speaks glowingly of a largely-volunteer effort to re-work the pool and, perhaps, have it open by this summer. The councilman urges everyone to lay aside any notion that a city pool can make money. Instead he wishes it to be thought of in public service terms for teaching children to the skill of swimming which, someday, might save their lives. Our interview with McCall can be heard this afternoon and tomorrow on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
