Positive Economic News for SC

There’s some positive news for employment in South Carolina.  Internet giant Google has announced plans to expand its data center located in Berkley County.  Officials broke ground Friday on the new Construction at Mount Holly Commerce park.  Google plans to invest over 1.2 million dollars in the site.  Governor Nikki Haley said “To be able to say South Carolina has Google and that all these jobs are coming is a great day.”  Officials with Google didn’t say exactly how many jobs would be coming to the facility.  Wayne Hall, who is the chairman of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance Board said,  “Google is a vital member of our region’s business community and their significant expansion is a testament to our fast-growing advanced security and IT sectors and knowledge economy” Google is an internet company which offers the Google search engine, G-mail and you tube among other services.
