Rare Oconee summer–no drownings

Only a few weeks, at best, are left in what can be considered the outdoor swimming season in Oconee County. And, so far, there have been no drownings. According to Karl Addis, Oconee county coroner, it’s a rare summer that passes without a drowning in one of the county’s numerous ponds, lakes, and rivers. There was an incident at Stamp Creek on Lake Keowee, but it turned out to be a cardiac death.
