Ratepayers to dig deeper

Westminster’s retail electric power customers will have to dig deeper into their pocketbooks to make good on their bills. 96.3/WGOG NEWS has been told that at last nights meeting, the city council unanimously voted to pass on the costs of a 7.3% increase from its electric power wholesale supplier to its retail customers. The increase will take effect in May and show up on June’s bills. In other years, the city has voted to eat some of PMPA’s wholesale increases, but not this time.  City Administrator David Smith says for a residential customer consuming 1,000 kilowatt hours the increase will amount to $10.04 a month.
