Refugee vetting bill gets Scott’s support

A bill to enact a strong vetting process for any refugee population looking to enter the U-S has the support of Tim Scott, U-S senator of South Carolina.  Republican Scott yesterday registered his vote in favor of the American Security Against Foreign Enemies (SAFE) Act of 2015.  According to Scott’s office, the bill places a moratorium on refugees until the FBI director certifies the background investigation of each refugee and the secretary of Homeland Security, along with the FBI director and the director of National Intelligence, certifies to Congress that each refugee is not a security threat to the country.  In November, after the terrorist attack in Paris, the bill passed the House by a bi-partisan, veto-proof margin of 289-137.  Scott then called for the Obama administration to suspend plans to admit Syrian refugees.
