Remember, there are second votes next week!

The 2014 political season, so far, has been one for poor voter turnouts. A second primary election vote next week shapes up to be no different as the political parties offer a total of only three contests to choose among for the Oconee electorate. The ballot for Tuesday’s Democratic runoff election pits Tom Thompson and Shelia Gallagher to be that party’s nominee to run for state Superintendent of Education in November. The Republicans offer Sally Atwater and Molly Mitchell Spearman as candidates for their superintendent nomination. The GOP runoff also decides the Lieutenant Governor’s nominee between Mike Campbell and Henry McMaster. Voting will be countywide Tuesday from 7 a-m to 7 p-m at the regular polling places.
