Replacing water meters–costly and time consuming

In the field of water metering, the technology is changing—fast.  And the Walhalla utilities superintendent says his city can benefit by replacing its water meters to ensure that the city is getting true reads on what is consumed.  Scott Parris, the utilities director, talked last night with the city council about replacing all of its meters.  But one councilman was catching his breath after hearing what it would cost.  Parris says the cost of replacing an individual meter is $196 dollars, but the cost to replace them all would be $1 million dollars.
