Rotarians to hear about Leadership Camp

The goal of this summer’s Leadership Camp in Oconee County was to instill in young men some of the skills they can use to change bad habits and plot a better future.  Today Walhalla Rotarians learn about Leadership Camp from Lt. Mark Lyles of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office and Evie Hughes, Director of Student Services for the Oconee School District.  The camp sprung to life three years ago when Lyles, Hughes, and school resource officers met to discuss ideas to reach students at risk of becoming drop outs. This year the camp received a $5 thousand grant from Kathleen and Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney.
