Sadness within Oconee’s public service community

The death Friday of a long-time devotee to government service in Oconee has moistened the eyes of those who knew him. At the age of 50 years old, Westminster resident Bobby Williams died at Greenville’s St. Francis Hospital. He’s remembered as a fire chief and city councilman in his home town, as well as the lead role he played for Oconee County’s hazardous materials team. Bob Winchester, director of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, called Williams “a dear friend and comrade.”
