Schools have plan for inclement weather

Oconee School District has a plan to deal with inclement weather and how it impacts class schedules.  “When there is a potential of hazardous driving conditions, administrators will visually check road conditions in each attendance area.  Officials may also consult Oconee County Emergency Management and law enforcement to assess driving conditions.  Any decision to delay or cancel will be made by 5:30 a-m.”  101.7/WGOG is one of the outlets the school district uses to announce delays and cancellations.  There are three possible announcements for inclement weather:  Schools Closed—No students should report to school.  A make-up day will be scheduled; 2-Hour Delay—All schools will open two hours later than normal.  Buses will also run two hours later than normal;  Afternoon and Evening Activities Canceled—Practices, games, concerts or any other evening activities are cancelled.
