Schools open tomorrow!

Everyone is being asked to be mindful of a change in routine that’ll begin before tomorrow’s sunrise. Oconee public schools return tomorrow, and the district superintendent is asking motorists to be careful in the vicinity of schools and bus stops. Dr. Mike Lucas is aware that many parents prefer to drive their children to school the first day, but to avoid congestion he is asking that as many students as possible ride the buses. “It’ll help teachers and staff when kids have to go home in the afternoon. They’ll know what their bus driver looks like and the bus number,” Lucas says.
