Scott and colleagues want answer

Senator Tim Scott says he and four other Labor Committee colleagues want the Obama administration to explain a mandated wage increase for employees of fast food restaurants at federal locations—such as military bases. The announcement by the South Carolina Republican says new mandates by the Department of Labor will negatively impact South Carolina and its nine military installations. Scott and the five other senators who signed a letter to Labor Secretary Thomas Perez fear the possibility that some fast food outlets on the bases will be forced to close because of the potential that the regulations will affect wages for contract concession workers at the military bases.
