Second man charged with intent to defraud lottery

Eric Alan JenkinsA second man has been arrested in Oconee County on charges of intent to defraud the South Carolina Education Lottery.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, the arrest of Eric Alan Jenkins, 30 years old, took place late Friday afternoon.  An arrest warrant accused Jenkins of attempting to cash stolen lottery tickets at a West Union business.  The ticket in question was stolen as part of a burglary that occurred at Tunnel Town Express on the Highlands Highway.  In the same investigation, authorities arrested and charged 33 year old Heath Allan Bates with intent to defraud the lottery after Bates allegedly tried to cash stolen tickets at a s. highway 11 business.  The stolen lottery tickets are part of a burglary investigation still underway.
