Seneca businessman charged with food stamp fraud

A Seneca businessman has been arrested as part of a police undercover operation alleging food stamp fraud. Law enforcement records show Jonathan Carter Redmond, owner of Redmond Boys Produce, arrested yesterday and charged with fraudulent acquisition or use of food stamps. According to the police incident report, a wired confidential informant working for the Seneca police went to Redmond Boys Produce June 2 to trade an EBT, an electronic benefits transfer card, for cash. The report alleges Redmond charged the card for the remaining balance of $200 dollars, kept $100 dollars, and gave the informant the other $100 dollars.
