Seneca holds special luncheon Friday

Seneca’s signature event to mark February as Black History Month will be a luncheon on Friday. It’s planned as a three-hour event, from 12 to 3, at the Gignilliat Community Center where there will be speakers, including representatives of the island country Barbados. In the meantime, Seneca has begun an effort to plan the city’s first African-American museum. And last night, during a special meeting, the mayor and council approved nine individuals to form the Strickland Preservation Group Committee.
