Seneca HS part of Super Bowl High School Honor Roll

As part of the nationwide kickoff to the Super Bowl 50 celebration, the NFL has launched The Super Bowl High School Honor Roll to recognize schools and communities that contributed to Super Bowl history. As part of the program, Seneca High School will honor Bennie Cunningham and Jimmy Orr at halftime of Friday night’s game against West-Oak at Bobcat Stadium. Cunningham lettered in four sports at Seneca before becoming an All-American at Clemson and earning two Super Bowl Rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Orr graduated from Seneca in 1952 and originally signed with Wake Forest, but eventually wound up playing for the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens where he led the SEC in pass receiving in 1955. Orr went on to play 13 seasons in the NFL with his greatest fame as being part of the Baltimore Colts teams from Super Bowl III and Super Bowl V. Colts fans honored him by nicknaming the right hand corner of their end zone “Orrsville”.
