Seneca in line for gated community

Seneca planning commissioners are recommending a zoning change to help allow a company to begin a new home development between Old Salem Road and Lake Keowee.  After a hearing last night, the commissioners voted to recommend that city council assign a Residential-15 zoning to 39 acres for property on the west side of Old Salem Road, 330 feet north of Loran Pointe Circle.  It’s to be a gated community of single-family homes on lots requiring a minimum size of 15 thousand square feet.  The commissioners heard from Dan Rawn, a representative of a Tennessee company.  City planner Jason Streetman says Rawn’s company intends to buy the property from Crescent Communities and begin work to prepare the streets and the lots for sale.
