Seneca leaders to take up Hammond case

Seneca has announced an executive session of the city council tonight for the Hammond case.  After the welcome, the invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance, the agenda for tonight’s special 6 o’clock meeting at City Hall calls for an executive session for a legal matter involving the case that emanates from the incident last summer in which a policeman shot dead a young man in the parking lot of a By-Pass restaurant.  This has been a busy week in the case as city officials went to Columbia amid reports of a deposition by officer Mark Tiller and a judge’s ruling on the Hammond family’s quest to see emails sent between the city and a public relations firm.
