Seneca student wins scholarship for the arts

A Seneca High student who sings and plays the piano is worthy of this year’s James M. Brown Scholarship for the Arts.  Rasheem Simpson, member of the All State Chorus, has plans to attend Southern Wesleyan University.  The $500 per semester scholarship is renewable for three additional years.  James M. Brown served as county superintendent of education at the time of his death. He had a great love of the arts, so friends and family started the James M. Brown Scholarship in his honor. Mrs. Brown still oversees the process and serves on the selection committee.
