Seneca teacher takes intensive science teaching

A teacher at Seneca’s Northside Elementary School, Laura Land, spent part of her summer attending the Science P.L.U.S. Institute, a facility of the Greenville County schools.  In their goal to become a top 10 district, Oconee public schools have identified instruction initiatives—one of which is an increased emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  Teachers, such as Land, attended workshops and training opportunities to improve their craft.  The science institute is supported by the fifth penny of sales tax on each dollar.
