Sex exploitation of minor brings prison term

Anderson County resident Kenny A. Swaney was sent to prison today for four years for sexual exploitation of a minor second degree.  Thirty-six year old Swaney previously pleaded guilty after a grand jury returned five indictments.  Today, in the Oconee General Sessions Court at Walhalla, was sentencing day.  Defense attorney Bruce Byrholdt pleaded for a home incarceration sentence, saying his client had no previous record.  Byrholdt said he feared for Swaney’s safety in prison.  A representative of the S.C. Attorneys General Office opposed a home incarceration sentenced, saying from a computer Swaney downloaded child pornography and disseminated it on the internet.  Swaney, unmarried, lived at his mother’s home.  She was left in tears by the sentence.
