Signing ceremony underway!

At a rural location near Pendleton, an important document is being signed today affecting Duke Energy and Oconee County and other areas. It’s a signing ceremony for the Keowee-Toxaway hydro relicensing stakeholder team members. They are to formalize a contract that over the course of a new federal license is to enhance water resource protection, recreation amenities, land conservation, and shoreline management to the region. Duke’s existing license for the hydro project expires in 2016. The new license application due to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in August of next year.
