Small tax increase approved in West Union

An approximate one-half of a tax mill is being added to the West Union property tax rate.  The town council this week voted to raise the tax by .51% of one mill.  The vote went 4-0 with one council member absent, Kelly Weiser.  Mayor Linda Oliver is hopeful that the increased tax mill rate will create revenue for a number of projects.  Included is a local supplement to a grant that will replace water lines on Schroder Street and Burns Mill Road.
