South Carolina under threat from tropical storm

The potential for tropical storm conditions along the South Carolina coast could mean heavy rain that causes coastal and flash flooding and wind.  There is also the
danger of deadly rip tides as the storm continues to track up the coast, and the Red Cross urges those in the path to get ready. “With South Carolina being threatened by tropical weather, people should stay informed about weather conditions and get prepared now,” said Ann Wright, Executive Director for the American Red Cross of Upstate SC. The approaching storm is a reminder that the state is in the middle of hurricane season, which lasts until the end of November. Hurricanes affect people in coastal areas but these storms can also cause damage hundreds of miles inland.
