Southern Wesleyan proud of award-winning teacher
For Joey Bryson, education is more than a career—it’s a way of life. Bryson, a 2003 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University, embraces the challenges of teaching special education at the West-Oak Middle School in Oconee County. She remembers the difference teachers made in the life of a cousin who had Muscular Dystrophy. She considers education a calling as far back as her high school days when she served as a teaching assistant in a special needs classroom. The Oconee School District affirmed Bryson’s dedication by naming her Teacher of the Year.
