“Spare the Air” award for Seneca

The project that Seneca pulled off last year to convert its passenger buses to all-electric power will be formally recognized during a luncheon Friday at the city’s bus terminal—the Seneca Rail Site.  There, representatives of the state Department of Health and Environmental Control will present Seneca a “Spare the Air” award.  Ed Halbig, Seneca’s director of planning and community development, admits this is sort of a no-brainer for his city when you consider that no longer does the bus fleet emit gas emissions into the environment.  Friday’s event will include a luncheon and speakers representing Seneca and Clemson—the city which originated “CAT”—the area’s free bus passenger system.
