Stressful time at OSD

The first part of the calendar year creates stress inside Oconee public school headquarters in Walhalla. The budget process makes it so, according to Dr. Mike Lucas, superintendent. At tonight’s board meeting, the administrators will propose a timeline for the process to fund the public schools during the 2013-14 year. In his blog today, Lucas says, “I think one of the greatest challenges being superintendent is that of securing adequate funds to finance school operations. That’s been especially true since the Great Recession began in 2008.”
