“Stuck” in a warm weather pattern

Our weather is not the type we would normally expect to be talking about this time of year.  The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg tells us that we are in the throws of an unusual pattern in which lots of rain and spring-like temperatures are forecast the next several days.  Meteorologist John Tomko calls it a warm weather pattern that essentially is “stuck” over us.  Tomko predicts cooler weather and more winter-like patterns in the coming weeks.  This current significant rain event has forced the closing of an additional 17 roads in six South Carolina counties. The counties that have been impacted are: Fairfield, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick, Richland and Saluda.  At least 3 of the flooded roadways have been damaged and will remain closed for repair.  The DOT will continue to monitor roadway conditions and take the appropriate steps to close roadways as necessary to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
