Superintendent knocks down rumor

Dr. Michael Thorsland made clear today he’s not going to leave his position as Oconee Superintendent of Education.  Responding to a rumor, Thorsland says he is staying. He told 101.7/WGOG NEWS that he has made no application for another position. Thorsland, who is under contract with the district,  says he has no intention to leave the job, to which he was elevated in the middle of last year upon the retirement of then Superintendent Dr. Michael Lucas.
