Taiwan teen enjoys West-Oak High

From the Asian island of Taiwan to Westminster, South Carolina the journey covered 8,300 miles. And for I-Ting Lieu, known here by the name Louis, the adjustment has been relatively easy and fun. As a Rotary Exchange Youth Study student, Louis is enrolled at West-Oak High School as a senior and is hosted by the Martin family across 24 from the school. Louis has embraced the ideals of Rotary, and for his presentation at today’s meeting of the Seneca Rotary Club he prepared a video depicting what the year has been like. What Rotary President Lowell Macher and other Rotarians are impressed by is that Louis, with the help of a social agency’s intervention, overcame a period of homelessness. Today he has his hopes set on further education and the chance to study law.
