Talks to lead to contract extension

Walhalla’s agreement with its general Streetscape contractor expires tomorrow, but it appears it’s only a formality to grant Hutch ‘N Son an extension to finish the job.  Danny Hutchinson told 101.7/WGOG NEWS this morning his company will need until the end of March.  Extending the contract until March 31 is likely to be accomplished by administrative action at City Hall.  Meantime, on the eve of what’s expected to some kind of rain, ice, or snow event, Streetscape workers plan to form the crosswalk sidewalks on the south side of Main, between Ann and Catherine streets.  They will also prepare to return to work quickly once the weather event passes.
