The finale a dandy

The three men for Oconee Sheriff were packin’ heat last night for what was their 12th and final get together of the political season. They addressed several questions about the jail, officer training, officer pay, and the like, but the real drama was reserved for their final statements. Mike Crenshaw went first and addressed rumors that the individual he has already selected to be his chief deputy is a member of the current department. “Every name mentioned is wrong,” said Crenshaw. He declared he has not promised any one in the department a job, nor has he threatened to fire anyone should he win.” Then Crenshaw turned to Donnie Fricks, his opponent immediately to his right on the stage of the Walhalla Civic Auditorium. He accused Fricks of false advertising. Both Fricks and fellow opponent Terry Wilson returned fire with barrels blazing. And we are carrying those remarks today on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
