The public to get filled in

Plans by the state to close an old bridge near Westminster are to be explained tomorrow during a two-hour public information meeting at the former train depot on Main Street. From 5 to 7 p-m, the meeting will follow a drop-in format, with displays for viewing the proposed plans to remove the S-64 (N. Seed Farm Road) bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad, two miles east of the city. The purpose of tomorrow’s meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from residents. According to the DOT’s announcement, the bridge is recommended for removal without replacement because of considerations over infrastructure condition, traffic patterns, economic factors and safety concerns. DOT representatives will be present and available to answer questions.
