Three Arrested in Camper Theft

Three people have been arrested by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the theft of a camper from a business in Oconee County. Those arrested were 50 year old Charles Leroy Pulliam, Jr. of Thornwood Drive in Williamston, 36 year old Sandy Dawn McKinney and 39 year old Willie William Ables, both of Highway 14 in Simpsonville.  According to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jimmy Watt, a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to Parkway Campers on South Highway 11 in reference to reports of someone forcing open the gate and stealing a pull behind StarCraft camper.  There were also reports of a separate vehicle, a green in color Honda that was also involved in the theft as well.  Soon thereafter, dispatch received reports that a truck pulling the camper had broken down and was on the side of the road along a portion of Highway 11.  Authorities discovered a man, later identified as Ables, at a creek in the area. He was apprehended along with McKinney who was hiding in the creek. The third suspect, Pulliam, was apprehended in a traffic stop. The camper, valued at around $11,000 was recovered.
