Three special exception requests to be aired

Three requests for special exceptions to Oconee zoning laws remain on the docket for consideration during hearings next week by the county Board of Zoning Appeals. A member of the public says Daniel Jacob Maalouf’s application for an exception involving property near Lake Jocassee Road is a concern to her and to others who live in the vicinity, and she would like additional announcements of the hearing. According to the board’s announcement, Maalouf seeks the special exception “for several buildings to be used for commercial use in a Lake Overlay District at 330 Summit Drive.” Other special exceptions to be considered during the June 25 hearings are permission for firewood sales and produce stand at 123 Francis Falls Drive and temporary parking off Lake Jocassee Road for a shuttle service for Jocassee Lake Tour customers. The hearings take place that Monday night in the County Council Chambers and start at 6 o’clock.
