Toccoa Wendy’s affected by cyber attack

The Wendy’s fast food corporation says its franchise location in Toccoa, Georgia was among those nationwide affected by the cyber attack that hit thousands of Wendy’s.  The company earlier this year reported unusual payment card activity affecting some franchise-owned restaurants and then determined that malware had been located in the system and disabled.  Wendy’s said the cyber attack with malware targeted specific payment card information such as cardholder name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, cardholder verification value, and service code.  According to Toccoa’s WNEG, a check of Wendy’s website showed the Toccoa location was affected between December 2, 2015 and June 8, 2016.  Customers are encouraged to learn more by going to www.wendys.com/notice.  A link can be found on the company’s homepage at www.wendys.com.
