Tower and road requests

Tower and road development applications are headed this month to the Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals. The tower application is not your normal communication tower, for which an exception must be made under the county’s zoning enabling law. It would be a 65-foot tower on Dogwood Hill Road near West Union. The applicant is one of the county’s approved Broadband providers—One Tone Telecom. A Clemson development company will go into the May 27 meeting seeking a variance for road development as part of a potential project near Hart’s Cove—a student apartment complex off highway 123 near Clemson in Oconee County.
